Inspiration for female entrepreneurs

Starting up your own business is incredibly exciting and exhilarating. Know deep inside that in even taking the first step on this journey, you are an exceptional woman! Many people think about it but few ever take real action and do anything about it. You are different. You have taken the first (and most important) step, by standing up and getting started.

What does the future hold for you and your business?  Who knows? No-one - not even you - can really know at this stage. That's part of the thrill. The leap into the unknown and finding your wings as you fly. The boundaries you will stretch as you push yourself, the new experiences and learnings, the different people you will meet and places you will go. The highs and the lows. The sense of achievement. The ability to positively effect change in yours and other peoples' lives. The liberating feeling of being in charge of your own destiny, no matter what happens. It's all out there waiting for you.

But there is no doubt at times it can be tough. You have a problem and don't know what to do it about it. You yearn to speak to someone for advice yet your friends and family, however well-intentioned, don't understand because they have never been on this path. You feel lonely. You're feeling confused, maybe heading down the wrong path. What do you do about this product problem, what do you do about these financials, what should you do to secure this customer, your staff, board, and investors are driving you nuts. You need someone to hold you accountable and keep you on track. You just need someone to talk to. Help!

And no matter what others may say, females in business often face additional challenges to men in  business. We think and do things differently, which brings both advantages and disadvantages. We value social impact as much as economic impact. But by simply being aware of these differences, we can either use them to our benefit or proactively manage and overcome any problems caused by our alternative approach.

I've been there, I understand. My hope is to be for you the kind of person I wish I had around me when I started my own business. A critical friend that will listen, support, advise, calm you down and gee you up...and give you the kick up the back-end when needed! Equal measures of inspiration and information.

Take a stroll around My Musings for my latest postings and contact me if you want a quick chat. Don't be shy. I promise you, I will always have five minutes free for a fellow female entrepreneur, and if you want any more support, we can talk about that too.

Now, go make your impact on the world!
