A proud day for me this week in my role as Chair of Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES). Two days training with our wonderful WES Ambassadors, a visit from Jamie Hepburn MSP to announce a major funding boost to help female entrepreneurs in Scotland, and a trip to Scottish Parliament to kick off our newly-founded Cross Party Group on Women in Enterprise.

Only 21% of Scotland’s SMEs are majority led by women and men are twice as likely as women to start a business. But if women started up businesses at the same rate as men, we would contribute an additional £7.6 billion to Scotland’s GVA, taking our contribution to £13 billion.

What a massive potential! What are we waiting for? Let’s get more women started up in business in Scotland. The time for action is now!
