Thrilled to announce the appointment of Carolyn Currie as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Women’s Enterprise Scotland. Having joined us in 2015 as Chief Operating Officer, Currie has led the development of a range of successful WES consultancy and training services, from early stage business creation to leadership for business growth. A Chartered Banker, Carolyn Currie has managed billions of pounds in business lending and founded the Women in Business service at the Royal Bank of Scotland. She has contributed papers to the World Economic Forum and spoken at conferences such as the Global Banking Alliance.
WES delivers a range of innovative services to support the growth aspirations of female business owners and leaders and we have made considerable strides in terms of reinforcing the economic benefits to Scotland of gender equality in enterprise. Women owned businesses already contribute £5bn in GVA which is more than other notable sectors of the economy such as Food & Drink, Sustainable Tourism and Creative Industries. This contribution could grow significantly with the right support and focus.
As Chair of Women’s Enterprise Scotland I am truly delighted to announce the appointment of Carolyn Currie as CEO of WES. Carolyn has a strong track record of economic development and is an acknowledged international expert in women’s entrepreneurship and there is no-one better to lad Wes in its next stage of growth.
