Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES) has been appointed to the G20’s ‘ideas bank’, Think20 (T20) to advise on the organisation’s Gender Economic Equity workstream. We are the only Scottish organisation to be working with the T20 and representatives from WES will attend the T20 summit in Buenos Aires in September. The T20 provides research-based policy advice to help the G20 deliver concrete and sustainable policy measures. WES is contributing to the T20 Gender Economic Equity workstream and sharing best practice insights from the ground breaking work we have delivered here in Scotland. Only 15% of Board Seats in Scotland are Held by Females – Shameful!
We are 50% of the population, yet women account for only 15% of the boardroom seats in Scottish listed trading companies. I stand by what I said on this recently – these statistics are simply shameful! We can change this by working together better across all sectors – public, private and third. This is a call to action – it’s time for change – RBS and Standard life have joined the call to action. Will you? http://www.heraldscotland.com/business/14929034.Big_firms_back_calls_for_more_women_on_boards/

Six Figure Boost To Help Close Gender Enterprise Gap in Scotland
A proud day for me this week in my role as Chair of Women’s Enterprise Scotland (WES). Only 21% of Scotland’s SMEs are majority led by women and men are twice as likely as women to start a business. But if women started up businesses at the same rate as men, we would contribute an additional £7.6…
